Mrs. Durand has been teaching Elementary Life Skills students for 30 years. She was raised in Newport and received her Elementary Education and Special Education degrees from Millersville University. Mrs. Durand received her Master's degree in Early Childhood education from Shippensburg University. Mrs. Durand began her career with the Capital Area Intermediate Unit and returned to Newport to teach in 1995.
Mrs. Durand lives in Shermans Dale with her husband and three daughters. She is in charge of the morning feeding of Wesley, her daughter Abby's fish. Some of her favorite things are helping her daughters with their 4-H activities of horse club and cake decorating, going to indoor and outdoor guard competitions, reading, gardening, and eating out with her husband.
